QUESTION: I am looking into making my own sunscreen as the brand I use, which is made by a dermatologist, is going out of business.

The sunscreen mainly consists of zinc oxide, olive oil and beeswax. But, I'd like to add some color to it so that my face does not appear so white (due to the zinc oxide). Would it be possible to just add brown iron oxides until I get the desired color, or should I use other colors as well?

ANSWER:  You would need to create a balance of iron oxides and ultramarine blue to create a skin-tone color. There are some kits at Monave that could help you get started, or you could just try your hand at it. The pigments need to be blended to create the color before you add it to the sunscreen....hope that helps!

NO nasty chemicals like other make up!
